Rockbridge County Livestock Youth Program

The program is designed to familiarize youth with selection, management, feeding, and exhibitior of farm animals--calves, lambs, goats, and hogs. All interested youth from Rockbridge and Botetourt Counties are eligible and invited to participate. They should be between the ages of 5 to 8 as of September 30 .

Calves for the project must be born after March 15 and before May 30. Dairy or beef steers and heifers may be exhibited.

Youth lambs, goats, and hogs must be in their possession by May 30 because they have to be weighed in at Jerry Swisher's scales.
